I’m just a human who’s interested in lots of things.  Teaching a particular flavor of social science to college freshmen — that’s how I earn my living.  It’s a lucky break.

One day a former student saw me and said “Hi, Doc.”  I told him I’m not worthy.  I only have a master’s degree.  He said he thinks all professors should be called Doctor anyway.  I said, “Thank you, Holy Father.”  Or I thought it.
